Ramadan 2023

The Muslim fasting month takes place this year from March 23 to April 22. Faithful Muslims will not eat or drink anything during this time from sunrise to sunset. In Islam, fasting stands for inner contemplation and spiritual fulfilment. At its end is the three-day festival of breaking the fast, after the Feast of Sacrifice, one of the most important celebrations in Islam. Better World Info wishes "Ramadan Mubarak" to all muslims.

Hanukkah

The Jewish Hanukkah, or Festival of Lights, is celebrated from November 28 to December 5 this year. It takes place in honor of the rededication of the second temple in Jerusalem in 169 BC. People usually celebrate with friends and family and give each other presents. There are traditional dishes of Jewish cuisine such as sufganiyot or latkes. Another candle is lit at the Hanukkah candlestick every evening until all candles are lit on the eighth day. We wish you a Happy Hanukkah!
