Privacy Policy

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. In addition, we strive for data minimization. That is, we only store data where absolutely necessary.

The General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") is an EU law regulation on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). We are subject to the regulations of the Data Protection Act (DSG) and the Media Act (MedienG) in Austria.

Our web server is in Germany. Unlike many other websites, we do not "track" visitors to our website for advertisement purposes for example. We also do not use social media plug-ins that submit unsolicited data to companies like Facebook, Google who track your browsing behavior. Similarly, we do not embed YouTube videos and other social media activities other than Twitter. Instead, we provide links to this information. And we also do not use Google Analytics to analyze our website, as this allows Google to create comprehensive user profiles.

While we link social media and use them (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube) we do not embed them into our website - with the exception of Twitter for our extensive topical twitter lists.

Cookies: On our website, we generally do not use any form of tracking (such as banner ads and "web bugs"), nor any active content (like "Java" or "Active-X"). An exception to this is the cookie from Matomo (Piwik). Matomo is an open source software used for the statistical analysis of the page views, which we use to improve our website and services. The information generated by the Matomo cookie is stored on our own server in Germany. The IP address is anonymized immediately after processing and prior to its storage. In principle, we do not share your personal information with third parties.

Our website and thus all entered data, are protected by the encryption "Secure Socket Layer" (SSL).

For legal and technical reasons, we need to store personally identifiable information. If you have any questions, please contact us as the party responsible for the General Data Protection Regulation:

Online presence in social media

We maintain online presence within social networks and platforms in order to communicate with customers, prospects and users active there and to inform them about our services.

We point out that data of the users outside the area of the European Union can be processed. This may result in risks to users because, e.g. the enforcement of user rights could be made more difficult. As for US providers certified under the Privacy Shield, we point out that they are committed to upholding the EU's privacy standards.

Furthermore, the data of the users are usually processed for market research and advertising purposes. Thus user profiles are created from the user's behavior and the resulting interests of the users. The usage profiles may, in turn, be used to place advertisements inside and outside the platforms that are allegedly in line with users' interests. For these purposes, cookies are usually stored on the user's computers, in which the user's behaviour and interests are stored.  Furthermore, in the usage profiles, data can also be stored independently of the devices used by the users (in particular if the users are members of the respective platforms and logged in to them).

The processing of personal data of users is based on our legitimate interests in an effective information of users and communication with them in accordance with. Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO. If the users are asked by the respective providers of the platforms for consent to the data processing described above, the legal basis of the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a., Art. 7 GDPR.

For a detailed description of the respective processing and the possibilities of contradiction (opt-out), we refer to the following linked information of the provider.

Also in the case of requests for information and the assertion of user rights, we point out that these can be claimed most effectively from the providers. Only the providers have access to the data of the users and can directly take appropriate measures and provide information. If you still need help, then you can contact us.

Integration of services and contents of third parties

Based on our legitimate interests (ie interest in the analysis, optimization and economic operation of our online services within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) lit. GDPR), we make use of content or services offered by third-party providers in order to provide their content and services, such as embed twitter lists (collectively referred to as "content").

This always presumes that the third-party providers of this content take note of record the IP address of the users, since without it they could not send the content to the user's browser. The IP address is therefore required for the presentation of this content. We endeavour to use only content whose respective providers use the IP address only for the delivery of the content. Third parties may also use so-called pixel tags (invisible graphics, also referred to as "web beacons") for statistical or marketing purposes. The "pixel tags" can be used to evaluate information, such as visitor traffic, on the pages of these websites. The pseudonymous information may also be stored in cookies on the user's device and may include, but is not limited to, technical information about the browser and operating system, referring web pages, time of visit, and other information regarding the use of our online services; as well as being linked to such information from other sources.

Twitter

Within our website features and content of the Twitter service offered by Twitter, Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA, are embedded. These include content such as images, videos, or text and buttons that allow users to share content from of this online service within Twitter. If the users are members of the Twitter platform, Twitter can assign the use of the above contents and functions to the user profiles there. Twitter is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement, which provides a guarantee to comply with European privacy legislation: https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000TORzAAO&status=Active.
