Zohran Mamdani - New York City Mayor

Having served as a member of the New York State Assembly since 2021, Mamdani is the first Muslim and Indian American to be nominated for mayor. He is endorsed by Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. In this watershed moment for progressives, the Ugandan-born pro-Palestine supporter walked the length of Manhattan days before the primary in a display of his promise to remain visible to the people of New York. His policies include improving affordability, implementing rent freezes, providing universal childcare, offering free public transport, and constructing more social housing.

Catherine Connolly – The New Left-Wing, Antiwar Irish President

In November 2025, left-wing, independent MP Connolly will become the new President of Ireland after winning an overwhelming victory over the fiercely unpopular Heather Humphreys. The election received an extraordinary number of spoiled votes, and in the week before, the capital saw violent rioting outside a Dublin asylum processing centre. President Connolly has vowed to be rooted in service, to stay humble, and to actively practice neutrality. She is anti-war, anti-imperialist, pro-reunification, an advocate for disability rights, and is fluent in Irish. Connolly has also been openly critical of the EU’s inaction on Gaza, and is distrustful of France and the UK due to their massive armament programmes. In her words, Connolly strives to be “A moral compass in a world increasingly driven by profit and spectacle. A voice for those too often silenced.”

Sanders is well known for his work to stop the growing wealth gap in the USA, and for his call of a "Political Revolution", which seeks to achieve the common good and positively transform U.S. policy.

José Mujica - Former President of Uruguay (1935 – 2025)

Affectionately referred to as "Pepe," the former President of Uruguay was famed for his humble lifestyle and progressive policies. Serving from 2010 to 2015, Mujica donated the majority of his presidential salary to charities. His policies were focused on social equality, the legalisation of marijuana, same-sex marriage, and significant educational reforms. A former guerrilla fighter, Mujica spent over a decade in prison before transitioning into politics, where he became a symbol of integrity in leftwing governance. Pepe's legacy of social reform sets a positive example for politicians around the world.

Olof Palme – Swedish Reformer

Olof Palme was a prominent Swedish politician known for his progressive ideas and commitment to peace, democracy, sustainability, and human rights. He served as Prime Minister of Sweden between 1969 and 1976 and again from 1982 until his assassination in 1986. He was the leader of the Social Democratic Party, which challenged capitalism at home and imperialism abroad. Palme was committed to reducing economic and gender inequalities, expanding welfare, and promoting international solidarity.

Jimmy Carter (1924 - 2024)

American politician and humanitarian who served as the 39th President of the United States of America. Carter’s lifelong dedication to human rights, peace, and democracy was celebrated in 2002 when he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. His inspiring legacy will live on through his work at the Carter Center, Habitat for Humanity, and his commitment to eradicating tropical illnesses such as Guinea worm disease and river blindness.
