➡️ YOUR PARTY – A New UK Left-Wing, Progressive, Political Party for the People

In July 2025, it was officially announced that under the guidance of independent MPs Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana, who were both previously members of the Labour Party, a brand-new option for British voters is being established.

With much to discuss, a dramatic yet electric founding conference to "shape how Your Party works" and confirm their official name took place in Novemeber.

In a show of huge popularity, the first 24 hours of setting up their new website saw sign-ups hit 250,000 – exceeding Reform UK's previous record. One week later it stands at a massive 600,000. In search of an alternative to the right-leaning Labour Party, the self-destructing Conservatives, and the downright terrifying Reform, this progressive and hard-left party are set to be a serious contender even for Kier Starmer.

The party is affiliated with the Independent Alliance, a parliamentary faction comprising six independent MPs who oppose inequality and war. The group includes Jeremy Corbyn, Zarah Sultana, Ayoub Khan, Adnan Hussain, Iqbal Mohamed, and Shockat Adam.

This new movement aims to fill the gaping void left by other traditional parties and will focus on economic stability, social equality, and environmental sustainability. By prioritising citizen engagement and transparency, Your Party seeks to end divisions and polarisation by building a more inclusive and forward-thinking society.

It is hoped that the party will be fully established in time for the 2026 local elections, where the priorities of the British public will be unveiled. Access key party documents here.

A recent YouGov poll from 27.11.25 showed that:

  • Just 12% of Britons would consider voting for Your Party, down from 18% in July
  • This compares to 25-29% of Britons being willing to consider the five established national parties
  • Only 4% of those considering Your Party do so exclusively, with 85% also open to voting Green
  • 68% of Your Party considerers believe it will be similar to the Green Party

The Founding Conference 29 - 30 November 2025

The two-day founding conference was nothing short of electric, despite being overshadowed by infighting, divisions, and dramatic expulsions. Members were nothing short of enthusiastic for this new political hope.

Attended by a highly diverse group of supporters, the conference reinforced the importance of democratic control and of uniting the left. Online voting decided the first two issues, dual membership and collective member leadership. Sultana's positions on the topics came out on top, leaving the Party with no figurehead and cementing her support for multiple political party memberships.

After several members of the Socialist Workers' Party were evicted, Sultana boycotted events until midday on the second day. Her feud with Corbyn was apparent, but supporters, for the most part, were eager for an alternative to Labour and desperate to prevent a Reform UK victory.

Sultana's fiery speech was received with massive applause, as she proclaimed, "We choose socialism". The Party now officially has a name and a constitution, which ordinary members will control. The exact structure remains to be seen, and Your Party still has a long way to go before it can put forward candidates for election.

Far from a flawless start, one thing is for sure: the stakes are too high for this Party to fail. They must come together on key points. The whole ethos of your Party is the unification of the left, and what is important are members, not factions.

With hopes high, let's hope that this chaotic conference is just teething problems and not the tone for where the Party goes from here.
