➡️ THE HAGUE GROUP - Calling for an End to Israel's Genocide

The Hague Group is a group of nations from the Global South which was formed on 31 January 2025 to protect and uphold the rulings of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC) concerning the Israeli–Palestinian conflict.

The group was founded by nine member states: Belize, Bolivia, Cuba, Colombia, Honduras, Malaysia, Namibia, Senegal and South Africa.

The Hague group is convened by Progressive International, an multi-mational political organisation which has brought together more than 70 progressive and left-wing groups to unite and mobilise.

At an emergency meeting in Bogota on 15-16 July 2025, 30 countries attended to discuss coordinated concrete actions (political, economic, and legal) to help enforce international law and push Israel to end its occupation of Palestine. The meeting has been hailed as one of the most significant developments since the start of the war in October 2023. The gathering was attended by China, Spain, and Qatar.

Here is the official statement by the Emergency Conference in Bogota - The Hague Group, dated July 16, 2025. The European and U.S. Media have remained quiet on the meeting (for now) as media bias towards Israel and the U.S. Government persists.

In a significant step, 12 countries in attendance agreed to take immediate and concrete action against Israel, including -

  • Preventing the transfer of arms, munitions and fuel.

  • Barring Israel from using its ports.

  • Commencing an urgent review of all contracts.

  • Recommitting to complying with the obligations for accountability under international law.

  • Supporting universal jurisdiction mandates.

The countries involved are Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Indonesia, Iraq, Libya, Malaysia, Namibia, Nicaragua, Oman, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, and South Africa. Recently Turkey joined The Hague Group. There is much optimism that others will follow suit.

While the actions of these smaller nations may seem insignificant in comparison to the weight of the U.S., it is hoped that together, their influence will put an end to Israel's relentless military campaign. These 12 nations have become role models in the pursuit of justice, human rights, and an end to impunity for violations of international law.
