Michael Succow (Germany)
Michael Succow, a distinguished German ecologist, has made significant contributions to environmental conservation. Renowned for his pioneering work in preserving natural landscapes, he was awarded the Right Livelihood Award in 1997.
His dedication led to the establishment of the Michael Succow Foundation, an organization committed to protecting biodiversity and promoting sustainable land use. The foundation focuses on conserving peatlands, wetlands, and other crucial ecosystems, both in Germany and internationally. Through research, education, and advocacy, the foundation strives to foster a deeper understanding of ecological balance and the urgent need for environmental stewardship.
