CRITICISM - must read !
Whoever thinks that Trump could ever get the Nobel Peace Prize should read Fredrik Heffermehl's book The Real Nobel Peace Prize, Oslo 2023. It would be totally against the will of Alfred Nobel. Trump is a warmaker, not a peace dove.
The Nobel Peace Prize has been hijacked by politicians who do not care about peace, but only about scoring points in the mainstream media's popularity sweepstakes. It carries no moral significance.
Among the few deserving Nobel Peace Prize laureates we remember Henri Dunant, Bertha von Suttner, Albert Schweizer, Martin Luther King, Jr., Desmond Tutu, Oscar Arias, Michail Gorbachev, Jimmy Carter, José Ramos Horta.
Among the embarrassing NPP laureates we must name Henry Kissinger, Menachem Begin, Barack Obama, Abiy Ahmed, Maria Ressa, Dmitry Muratov. None of them qualify under Alfred Nobel's testament. And certainly not Trump. It would kill the NPP.
Who should be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize? The organizers of the Gaza Flotilla, the ICRC, the former UNRWA Chief Pierre Krähenbühl, Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, Prof. John Mearsheimer, Prof. Glenn Diesen, Barbados PM Mia Mottley.
