On January 1, the Catholic Church celebrates the World Day of Peace, a tradition initiated by Pope Paul VI in 1968. This day is dedicated to promoting peace across the globe, encouraging reflection on how individuals and communities can contribute to fostering harmony.

Each year, the Pope issues a message addressing current global challenges and urging action towards justice, reconciliation, and solidarity. It serves as a call to all people of goodwill to work tirelessly for peace, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, understanding, and compassion in resolving conflicts and building a better world.

We strongly recommend to read the full Message by Pope Leo XIV on 18.12.25 in preparation of the World Day of Peace on 01.01.26
